2016 Lotus Evora 400

Lotus has introduced the new Evora 400 at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The 2+2 coupe stands out as the fastest and most powerful full-production car that Lotus has ever built.

According to Lotus, "over two thirds of the Lotus Evora 400 is new". Other than the obvious change with bodywork such as the larger and more aggressive air ducts, the new LED daytime running lights, and larger front and rear diffusers, the Lotus Evora 400 also features upgrades under the skin.

The Toyota-sourced supercharged 3.5L V6 is massaged to produce 400hp and 302 lb-ft of torque mated to a six-speed manual or automatic. The result is a 0-60 time of just 4.1 seconds and lap time that’s about six seconds faster around Lotus’ Hethel test track than the previous fastest Evora.

This also comes thanks to a bunch of suspension, steering, and chassis tweaks and a weight reduction by 48lbs. There’s also a standard limited-slip differential and larger brakes.

The Lotus Evora 400 was designed with U.S. regulations in mind. It will goes into production later in the summer of 2015. (egmcartech.com, lublexus.com & leftlanenews.com)
