1960 Aston Martin DB4 GT Bertone "Jet" Concept

Built on the last original DB4 GT chassis, the one-off DB4 GT "Jet" Concept was designed by the then 22 year-old Bertone designer legend Giorgetto Giugiaro. Powered by a race-developed twin-cam six-cylinder 3.7-litre engine. All clothed in a perfectly proportioned aluminium. The engine was tuned to produce a claimed 302bhp at 6,000rpm, a useful increase over the standard car's claimed 240bhp. Maximum speed, depended on overall gearing, could achieve 153mph during testing with a 0-60mph time of 6.1 seconds recorded. The "Jet" was also the only DB4 GT example bodied in steel. In May 2013, it was sold for  £3.25M ($5M) in a Bonhams auction. (bonhams.com)
